ICYMI: Nonprofit hospitals and health systems in Minnesota spent more than $6 billion on community impact in 2023, according to a new report from the Minnesota Hospital Association. MHA CEO and president explained to the Rochester Post Bulleting that these investments are not just for patients, but entire communities served by hospitals and health systems. From the article:

Nonprofit hospitals in Minnesota spent more than $6 billion on community impact in 2023, according to a new report from the Minnesota Hospital Association.

“Over 40% of the hospitals in Minnesota are still operating in the red,” said Dr. Rahul Koranne, MHA president and CEO. “But over the last couple of years, we have seen the trend of community impact and community benefit steadily go on.”
