ICYMI: More Minnesotans needed to work in health care

MHA CEO and President Rahul Koranne was published in the Duluth News Tribune last week, citing the need for more Minnesotans to work in health care. The commitment from employers to recruit and retain staff is there, and Koranne calls for additional public and private support in Minnesota’s health care workforce development. From the opinion:

We need young people to see themselves in the future of health care. We also need people already in the caring professions, like CNAs and licensed practical nurses, to see a path to a wider array of skills and responsibilities. But most importantly, we need to respond to the growing need for care in Minnesota. These are our friends, neighbors, and families who will need screening, routine checkups, surgery, rehabilitative care, lab work, transportation, and a whole universe of care that will help them live their best lives.
